Who We Are "Barestate," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Barestate. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use Barestate's on-device software and connect it to third-party tools or services. ## 2. On-Device Processing and Zero Retention Barestate processes your application data on your device. Barestate does not collect or retain the prompts, messages, screenshots, files, outputs, or activity records processed through Barestate on its servers. Our retention period for this user data is **zero**. We do not maintain server-side copies, archives, or backups of it, and we do not use it to train AI models. Zero retention by Barestate does not mean that files, settings, or history on your own device are automatically deleted. Any information saved locally remains under your control and may also be affected by your device's backup or synchronization settings. ## 3. Information Processed on Your Device Depending on the features you enable and permissions you grant, Barestate may process the following locally: - Instructions, prompts, and messages you provide. - Screenshots and screen content needed to understand or complete a task. - Files or application information you authorize Barestate to access. - Outputs, task state, and local settings needed to operate the software. Barestate uses this information to carry out your instructions and provide the features you request. Processing information locally does not transfer ownership of it to Barestate. You can manage Barestate's access through its available controls and your operating system's permission settings. ## 4. Third-Party Tools and Services If you choose to use a separate AI provider, application, integration, or other third-party tool with Barestate, information needed for that tool may be transmitted to it in accordance with your instructions and permissions. That provider's terms and privacy policy govern its processing, storage, retention, and any use of the information for model training. Its retention period may be different from Barestate's zero-retention approach. Barestate does not retain a separate copy of the data used through those tools. Our zero-retention policy does not override a third-party provider's practices or guarantee that the provider deletes information. Review the provider's privacy policy and available settings before connecting a tool, especially if you plan to process confidential or sensitive information. ## 5. Sharing, Sale, and Advertising Barestate does not sell user application data, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles. User-directed transfers to third-party tools are described above. Because Barestate does not retain your application data, we have no retained copy of that data to disclose in response to a request for stored application content. ## 6. Security and Your Controls Barestate relies on local processing and the permissions you grant to limit access to your information. Keep your device, operating system, and connected applications secure and up to date. You can revoke device permissions, disconnect third-party tools, stop using Barestate, and remove locally stored information using the available application or device controls. Uninstalling Barestate may not remove files stored elsewhere on your device or information retained by third parties. No software or device can guarantee absolute security. A third-party service's safeguards apply to information you choose to send to that service. ## 7. Your Privacy Rights Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a relevant data protection authority. Because Barestate does not retain your application data, we cannot retrieve, export, or delete a server-side copy of it. You control information stored on your own device. Requests concerning information retained by a third-party tool should be directed to that provider. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights. ## 8. International Use Barestate's local processing takes place on your device. If you connect a third-party service, that service may process information in the United States or other countries under its own privacy policy and applicable transfer arrangements. ## 9. Children's Privacy Barestate is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. Barestate does not knowingly collect children's application data. ## 10. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy and will publish the revised version with an updated date. We will provide notice of material changes and obtain consent where required by applicable law. Any change introducing collection or retention of application data will be disclosed before that new processing begins.
